What is Physiotherapy

Chartered Physiotherapists are health professionals allied to the medical profession and carry a university qualification.

Chartered Physiotherapists in Ireland are represented by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, which is a professional body with over 3000 members. The Society was founded in 1983 following a number of developments in the profession including the establishment of a university degree qualification. The scope of the physiotherapy profession is broad and varied and Society ensures that the highest standards of care are provided by Chartered Physiotherapists in Ireland at all times.
